# WhatsApp scanner

> Send receipts from your phone

Register a phone number, then send photos or PDFs to TaxLayer's WhatsApp number. Each one becomes a document. **Pro and Premium plans.**

## Set up

1. Open **Connections** › **Mobile scanners** tab (or **Mobile Scanners** directly) and press **Add Scanner** › **WhatsApp**.
2. Enter the phone number with its country code and press **Connect**.

3. The scanner shows as **Pending**. Use **QR code** on its row to open WhatsApp to the TaxLayer number, or add the number shown to your contacts.
4. Send any message. The scanner becomes **Active**. There is no verification code.

Client portal users can register their own phone from Connections in the portal; their documents land on their client.

## Using it

* Send a **photo or PDF** → it becomes a document and goes through the usual statuses.
* Send **STOP** → the scanner is switched off.
* Any other text gets the reply *Please send a photo or upload your receipt or other document*.
* Messages from numbers that aren't registered are ignored.

On the Free plan a photo past the 10-document limit is kept and you get a reply saying it will be processed once you upgrade.

## Removing

**Disconnect** from the scanner's row menu. If your plan drops to Free, scanners are switched off and messages are ignored until you upgrade and reconnect.

Viber is shown as *Coming Soon* and is not available.
