# Welcome to TaxLayer

> What TaxLayer does and where to start

TaxLayer reads your financial records from the places they already live and checks them against each other:

1. **myDATA** — what AADE has on record for the business
2. **Documents** — invoices and receipts you upload, email in or send by WhatsApp
3. **Bank statements** — what actually moved in and out
4. **Your books** — files from your accounting system

When they agree, you're in good shape. When they don't, the **Co-pilot** lists exactly what needs clearing before the next myDATA deadline, with one action per item.

## Who this is for

* **Accounting firms** — one Home page across every client: who needs you, which VAT deadlines are near, which clients are missing data.
* **Businesses** — your own VAT due, bank balance, who owes you, estimated income tax, and a short list of things to sort out.

TaxLayer **reads** from myDATA and your bank. It never submits to AADE, moves money or files anything on your behalf.
